Our Alumni Mates Fancy Reading Terminal Market & Flower Show

The theme of the Philadelphia Flower Show this year was, you guessed it, Great Britain!

Penn State Alumni started out the morning with an English breakfast at the Reading Terminal Market where General Manager and alumnus Paul Steinke offered a history lesson on the market.

Penn State Abington’s Coordinator of International Affairs, Dr. Dolores Arevalo, was also there to talk to the group about the study abroad programs that the college offers. Over spring break there were students in Nicaragua, Spain, Italy and of course England. Penn State students sent a video from across the pond:

After breakfast alumni made their way over to the Philadelphia Flower show, ready to be immersed in British culture, just like our students on study abroad programs. Alumni made their way around the transformed Philadelphia Convention Center to see royal palaces, dark and fogy streetscapes, the Mad Hatter’s tea party, cozy country cottages and more. All this together making a whirlwind tour of the UK for the guests.

It was a great day had by all.
